About WIB Circles

As part of Women in Biohealth’s initiative to build community and support women in biohealth, we are launching our first series of circles! WIB circles will allow you to connect with fellow women in the community and provides the platform to discuss topics, learn from each other, and answer questions on your career.
A WIB circle will consist of fellow WIB women and will meet once a month for 1-2 hours, depending on what circle moderators decide.  Each circle will consist of 8-12 members including 1-2 moderators who will bring topics to the monthly WIB circle meetings. The format for these circles is structured around Lean In Circles applying what has worked well for other professional women.
Today there are more than 33,000 Circles in over 150 countries. Circles meet everywhere from living rooms to company cafeterias—and they are spreading from city to city and country to country by word of mouth. The best part is, they work: 85 percent of members attribute a positive change in their lives to their Circle. Women are asking for more, stepping outside their comfort zones, and leaning in.

Women of Positive Energy Circle Sign-up

Moderated by Lisa Johnson

Welcome to Women of Positive Energy Circle. We are excited to be a circle under the Women in Biohealth organization. If you join this circle, expect to be free to: laugh, share stories, and express frustrations and fears. No judgments and there are no stupid questions or topics. This circle is to support one another in a positive way and to help one another cope with all that is going on in our lives. To help us gain confidence and accept who we are as individuals.

This circle will meet once a month after work at various locations. Circle members will determine date/time/location.

Skill Set Savants Circle Sign-Up

Moderated by Cathy Rasmussen

One of the key areas we as professional women find challenging is owning our own value. I would like this circle to be a group that, among other things, encourages us to recognize, acknowledge, and utilize the skills, abilities, and experience we’ve gained in both our personal and professional lives.

This circle will plan to meet on the third Monday of every month. Location may vary, but we will always try to plan a central location until we find a place that works best for those in the circle.

Wonder-ful Women Circle Sign-up

Moderated by Christina Thomas-Virnig

In this circle, we will recognize the talented and powerful superhero in all of us.  Discussion will revolve around our expertise, professional expectations, and the challenges we have experienced. Through these reflections hopefully, you will identify your short term and long term stretch goals.  At each session, we will determine topics of discussion for the next circle meeting.

Meetings will occur on Thursday evenings once a month at 5:30 for approximately an hour.  Location University Research Park.  Room TBD.
